Ella's First Visit

My granddaughter was born in February 2009 and I didn't get to see her during her newborn stage. I have photos of her when she was first born, but I had not had a chance to hold her or make her laugh or rock her to sleep. Well, that changed last week. My Army son, Sean, was attending a class/seminar at Fort Leavenworth, KS and he stayed with us for the three weeks of the seminar. My daughter-in-law, Cassey, and my granddaughter, Ella. came to visit last week. It gave me a perfect opportunity to take some photos of Ella. What fun!

Cassey said that the newborn photos included a lot of Ella (as expected), quite a few of Ella and Sean, but very few of her and Ella. I tried to get some of Ella and Cassey, and then found that I only had a few of Sean and Ella. This feels like a merry-go-round!!

I love Ella's cute little cheeks and her dark, dark eyes. She is so sweet and friendly. She smiled at me right off and let me hold her without crying. She is a sweetheart!

Ella looks a lot like her Mom and her Dad. She is Cassey from the nose up and Sean from the nose down. She likes to stick out her tongue (David, her grand-father, taught her this trick) and she laughs every time she does it.

  1. I think you need to get the 50mm and 85mm lenses. I'm impressed with the quality of the rental.

  3. Thank you JoAn. Ella has such sweet cheeks! I love to kiss her right in the fold of her neck, that makes her laugh.

  4. You need to tell Cassey that. Look where she's kissing her in the last photo and the reaction it gets. ;)

  5. She knows, we just didn't get one of those photos. It makes me sad to think of the photos we didn't get. Ah well, there will be other opportunities, but not when Ella is this age.
